The Utah Jazz are close to agreeing a five year deal with Boston Celtics assistant Will Hardy to become the franchises new Head Coach. Replacing Quin Snyder, who surprisingly left the team back in June after another disappointing playoff campaign.
According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowksi. Hardy was one of four finalists, including fellow Celtics assistant Joe Mazzulla, Raptors assistant Adrian Griffin & Jazz assistant Alex Jansen, who met with ownership in Salt Lake City this week.
Hardy played Division III basketball at Williams College before joining the San Antonio Spurs, beginning in the video room before working his way up to assistant.
Hardy spent five years as an assistant to Gregg Popovich in San Antonio before spending the last season as a member of Ime Udoka's Celtics staff, who made it all the way to the NBA Finals.
At 34 years old, this deal will see Hardy become the youngest active coach in the National Basketball Association.
