The Phoenix Suns, Milwaukee Bucks & Boston Celtics have gone all-in to win a championship during this off-season, all creating 'super teams' to be feared around league but on paper it's clear that the Bucks have the best starting unit.
Bucks (likely) Starting 5:
PG- Damian Lillard- Top 3 point guard in the league, one of the best scorers and three point shooters we have ever seen, with great playmaking too.
SG- Pat Connaughton- Probably the weak point of the team but still a solid defender & three point shooter that will help the rest of the team succeed.
SF- Khris Middleton- He has had a rough ride since the 2021 Championship but when healthy he is All-Star level two way talent, always capable of a bucket.
PF- Giannis Antetokounmpo- Arguably the best player in the league, elite on both ends and scary in transition.
C- Brook Lopez- DPOY candidate, great rim protector and capable of spacing the floor for Giannis. Rounds out the team nicely.
The fit of this team seems about as perfect as you can get with all players complimenting each. The main factor is their two superstars (Dame & Giannis) compliment each other in such an ideal way, excelling where the other struggles. HOW DO YOU STOP THEM?
- Team Comparisons:
All three teams have great starting units, the Bucks & Suns both boast former MVP's but the Celtics have youth on their side (and a future MVP in Jayson Tatum). Phoenix has arguably got three of the top 10 scorers in the league on their team, while the Celtics boasts the ability to have an elite team defense.
Jrue Holiday's elite defense and playmaking should compliment Jaylen Brown well. While it remains to be seen how things will work with Durant, Beal & Booker all looking for their shots. The Suns do have the best depth but in terms of the all-round potential of a starting five Milwaukee are well out in front.
Freak Time is going to be scary!
