It was raining threes in Dallas on Tuesday night as the Mavericks defeated the Golden State Warriors 119-109, to avoid the series sweep. The Mavs shot a combined 20/43 from deep after really struggling with their shot in Game 3.

Dallas knew it was win or go home and they came out of the blocks with a fast pace to take an early lead, but Andrew Wiggins continued his good first quarter scoring form in this series to keep the score close.

Reggie Bullock, Dorian Finney Smith & Maxi Kleber combined for six 3 pointers in the first quarter after going a combined 2/17 in Game 3, giving Dallas a four-point lead going into the second.

GSW re-took the lead early in the 2 before the Mavs took over. Playing withpace and attacking the paint, while hitting their three’s but not forcing upshots like in previous games in this series. A 19-2 run midway through thequarter giving Dallas a 62-47 half time lead.

The Mavericks great shooting continued in the second half; a pair of Finney Smith trebles was followed by a Luka Doncic bank shot to give the Mavs a 22-point lead early in the third.

Dallas ultimately shooting 8/13 as a team from deep in the quarter to give themselves a 29-point lead going into the final period. Impressively putting up 99 points in the first three quarters.

The Warriors reserves finished the third and seemed they would finish out the game, but they ate into the Mavs lead, first closing to within 16 points. Which saw the Dallas starters return before Jonathan Kuminga hit a three pointer with 3:22 remaining to cut the lead to 8 points.

This sparked a return for the Warriors starters but Doncic re-established control for Dallas to close out the game, scoring or assisting on the Mavericks final nine points after the 29-point lead was closed to just 8.

Doncic finished with 30 points, 14 rebounds, 9 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks, with Finney Smith adding 23/6 and Bullock 18 more on 6/10 shooting from deep. Bullock, Finney Smith and Kleber a combined 12/20 from three.

Steph Curry led the way for Golden State with 20/5/8, while Kuminga added 17 points and 8 rebounds off the bench.
