It appears Kyrie Irving will stay with the Brooklyn Nets for at least one more season, after opting-in to his $36.9 million player option for the 2022/23 season.

Per Shams Charania, he is bypassing on multiple opt-in and trade scenarios to fulfil his four-year commitment to the Nets and Kevin Durant.

“Normal people keep the world going, but those who dare to be different lead us into tomorrow. I’ve made my decision to opt in. See you in the fall. A11even.”

This would appear to signal the Nets will run it back with Kevin Durant, Kyrie, and Ben Simmons, who they acquired in the James Harden deal but did not play a game last season.

Brooklyn built their ‘super team’ to win a championship and it appears they will get a least one more opportunity to achieve this with the original duo of KD & Kyrie leading the team in the 2022/23 season.
