Per Adrian Wojnarowski, Kevin Durant has requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets as we enter into free agency. With the Phoenix Suns & Miami Heat being two of the teams on his wishlist.
Durant joined the Nets back in 2019 but missed the first season due to injury. Since then he has been a star for the team and was just a toe away from sending the team to the conference finals last season.
The 33 year old signed a 4yr/$198m extension last August which comes into effect from the start of the 2022/23 season, so the Nets will be looking for one of the biggest trade packages in NBA history for the 12x all-star.
Durant averaged 29.9 points, 7.4 rebounds and 6.4 assists last season on near 50/40/90 efficiency so he will not be short of suitors but Brooklyn want to get the best deal possible for their prized asset.
The Phoenix Suns will likely offer a sign & trade deal involving DeAndre Ayton along with picks to try to win the sweepstakes.
This request follows the uncertainty around Kyrie Irving last week but even Irving opting in for another has not convinced KD that Brooklyn is the future for him.
