The Memphis Grizzlies kept their season alive with an impressive 134-95 win over the Golden State Warriors. The home team led the entire game despite being without star guard Ja Morant.
The Grizzlies dominated on both ends of the floor holding the Warriors to just 67 points across the first three quarters. Including a third quarter which saw them outscore the visitors 42-17, to establish a 52-point advantage going into the final period.
The third quarter saw five different Grizzlies hit from deep, with Jaren Jackson Jr, Desmond Bane & Tyus Jones combining for 25 points, allowing the reserves to play out the fourth quarter.
An all-round team performance from Memphis saw them shoot 44% from three (18 makes), provide 37 assists, win the rebounding battle 55-37 (including 18 offensive boards) and commit just 9 turnovers, while forcing Golden State into 22.
Of course, this sort of performance shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise. The Grizzlies were 20-5 with Ja Morant during the regular season.
Jackson Jr finished with 21 points and 8 rebounds, with Bane adding 21 points and Jones finishing with 21 points and 9 assists. Klay Thompson led the way for the Warriors with 19 points, Jonathan Kuminga adding 17, with Steph Curry scoring just 14 points.
The goal now for the Grizzlies is to force a Game 7 back in Memphis. Game 6 will be on Friday @3am (GMT +1).
