Big 2nd half from Brown & Tatum earns victory for Celtics

Jaylen Brown scored 13 fourth quarter points to help the Boston Celtics close out the Miami Heat 93-80 on Wednesday night, to take a 3-2 lead in the series. The Celtics taking the lead in a series for the first time since Round 1.

Both teams struggled to hit their shots early, the game didn’t see a field goal make until the 9:38 mark.

The relative struggles continued with the Celtics starters really struggling, needing the presence of Derrick White off the bench to provide them with a spark and keep them in touch in a low scoring first quarter, 19-17 Miami.

2chance points were proving a catalyst for the Heat with 9 offensive boards inthe first half leading to 16 points for the host. Back-to-back buckets from AlHorford keeping the Celtics within five points, 42-37. With Brown and JaysonTatum, a combined 3/16 in the first half.

Boston came out with a purpose in the 3 quarter as an 8-0 start helped themretake the lead, the Miami Heat going completely off the boil. Finishing acombined 4/23 from the field and putting up just 16 points in the quarter. WithBoston almost matching their entire first half total with 32 third quarterpoints.

A 10-0 run to finish out the quarter put the Celtics up by 11 points, as the game was stretched for the first time.

This run continued into the final period, Brown & Tatum combining for 14 early points to stretch the lead to 23, this after the Heat had closed to within a point with 2:44 to go in the third. Bam Adebayo offered some resistance, scoring the next 8 points for the Heat, with Jimmy Butler’s struggles continuing. However, it was not enough as Boston closed out the road win.

Brown and Tatum combined for 37 points in the second half after just 10 points in the first.

Brown led the way for Boston with 25 points, while Jayson Tatum added 22/12/9. With Horford finishing with 16 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 blocks.

Adebayo finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds, with Butler adding 13/6/4 and Gabe Vincent adding 15 points off the bench.
